Export your way

• Export as PNG, JPG or WebP
• Put any solid color behind the cutout, picked from a color wheel (or typed as hex)
• Or put a picture of your choice behind it
• Works in batch mode too

Edges

• New Edges slider: make the cutout's edge sharper or softer, with a live preview

Quality of life

• Settings now shows the app version, plus a "Check for updates" link
• Cutout remembers its window size and position
• New Community links in Settings (Discord, feedback, GitHub)

Linux

• Reworked how the AppImage is packaged to fix a startup crash found by the AppImage catalog's test bot (needs Ubuntu 24.04 or newer)

Notes

• Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the app isn't code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway.
• macOS (Apple Silicon only) and Linux builds are newer and have had less testing than Windows.
• Needs a CPU with AVX2 (most PCs from about 2013-2015 or newer).

First release of Cutout, a local background remover. No account, no upload, no subscription.

Windows: download the .exe. If SmartScreen warns you, click "More info" then "Run anyway".

macOS (Apple Silicon only): download the .dmg. See the README for the first-launch step.

Linux (Ubuntu 24.04 or newer): download the .AppImage or .deb.
